Breakthroughs in increased compute power and data availability have drawn increased attention to the tremendous benefits that AI can bring to our lives. Nonetheless, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not without risk to individuals, businesses and societies. AI systems can lack transparency in their decision making, make use of unwanted biases contained in training data, invade privacy and can demonstrate unpredictable behaviors.
To address these concerns, AI should be developed and used in a responsible way. In this paper, we list and explain worldwide initiatives for promoting and enforcing Responsible AI. We elaborate on the European AI Act that went into effect in August 2024. Additionally, we share how NXP’s AI offering enables Responsible AI deployment.
